Monday Musings: Your Boldest Bloom

peony taken in a gardener friend's garden on Saturday
You have probably read this quote before, but it's one that bears frequent reading:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Marianne Williamson
It's the start of a new week.
Welcome, Monday, with your fresh promise of new beginnings.
So, if playing small does not serve the world....and if we are all born to shine...
Tell me, what step can you take this week toward becoming your boldest bloom in the world?
It can be a teeny, tiny step in the direction of your blooming big.
Or a bodacious one.
But please join me in taking one step toward your fullest flowering in life.
The world needs your light, your brilliance, the beautiful flower you are.
For me, my step is going to be setting up some research interviews for my new book project.
I notice that I procrastinate and go into "busy" mode out of some fear that comes up for me around this project.
And this procrastination keeps me from shining my fullest light.
So this week, I commit to keep opening and unfolding — one step at a time — into being most beautiful, boldest bloom I can be in the world.

Thanks for the inspiring reminder. It's so easy to shrink away from living our potential. This week I embark on the second Design4Kids workshop connecting creative professionals with talented teens in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala. It's my prayer and my intention to be fully present keeping my eye on the vision and purpose for our workshop. It's so easy for me to get distracted in all of the details and lose sight of the end goal. Thanks again for your inspiration.
Sending you light on your book project and ask for your light on my upcoming internet business. It seems that I am often filled with light for others and cannot always shine it on my own path. Reaching out to others to inspire or affirm is sometimes the light we need to ward off the haunting shadow of fear. My friends in light remind me of the joy that I am. Thank you, new friend in light, for your wonderful writing. You are blessed and will bless many with your new book. @magsjoy
Continuing my steps toward expressing my art through frequent writing. Tonight my post didn't feel all that great, and certainly not up to my potential. Posted just the same because it's what I am called to do. Everyday can not be an A day, and I'm OK with that. B days have a place too, right? :)
Thanks for the Monday pick me up.
Jeff, What a beautiful and inspiring intention to hold! I love it! (Your project also sounds wonderful, too!) Sending energy for a wonderful workshop!
Maggie, I know the shining light for others, but not also shining my own bit — been there! But I'm learning that like this quote says when I step into my radiance, we let others do the same. I am here sending you radiant light and joy for your internet business and return the blessings for you tenfold. Keep me posted on how it's going…
& Jim, Love that you continuing to honor you (and your writing talent) through frequent writing. I read in an email I received today from a membership site I belong to (the Comfort Cafe with Jen Louden) where she shared another member's inspiring phrase: "Done is better than perfect." Celebrate the writing that is happening — and a B is pretty awesome, too, right?!
Thanks so much for commenting — holding the intention for all of us to keep moving toward blooming big in our life! Love and light to all!
love this quote! loved akeela and the spelling bee movie when i first heard it..:) so. its wednesday. not monday :) but we can commit to bloomin big any time :)
for me this is finding itself in my life this way: a blog redesign is in the works for me and i was kinda waitin to post a few new things i want my site to show. instead..i'm drafting those ideas first as separate pages...i'll post em on the current site. and then transition all later when a redesign is in place. why wait til the appearance of the offering looks yummier? why not just post the offering.
remember having a bake sale in your driveway when you were 8? remember how you told the neighborhood? run around the block and share the word and or post hand written notes by thumbtacking 'em to the telephone poles :) oh, wait, i'm sure some people got really beautiful stationery and hand wrote 100 invites and then hand delievered them too right? :) heee.
hugs for the tender reminders....big doesn't have to mean anything but huge in our hearts and intentions ;) wheee!
